When bus and coach operator MP Travel based in Cheshire unveiled one of its new coaches in 2019, it was welcomed by bus enthusiasts but went relatively under-the-radar.
That was until a meme started recently appearing on social media.
The 12.6 metres-long, 49 seat coach runs on Megabus M11 and M11A routes between London and Glasgow via Manchester, Preston and Lancaster. It also operates rail replacement services across the country.
Its name... 'Bussy Galore'. It has a sister coach too, called 'Our Janis'.
Bussy Galore is only one letter different from Pussy Galore, a fictional character-turned-famous sex symbol from the James Bond novels and films - just thought I'd explain in case you didn't get it.
Played by Honor Blackman, the character came to prominence after appearing in the 1964 film version of Goldfinger. The character's unusual name comes from her beginnings as a cat burglar in the United States in the 1959 novel version of Goldfinger.
Remember Boaty McBoatFace? Course you do. Bussy Galore a rival for the throne.
Yesterday (July 24) a tweet which has garnered hundreds of retweets and over 4700 likes reminded the wider world of Bussy Galore's existence. The same user who posted the tweet, 'Marie Le Comptroller / @tramfrau', also noted the irony of the bus being used for Stagecoach-run Megabus services, when Stagecoach's co-founder Brian Souter who has made homophobic comments and supported the now-repealed Section 28 law. MP Travel, which actually owns the coach, is not associated with Stagecoach directly.
The bus then appeared as a meme circulating on Facebook with the caption with the text "What if we kissed on the Bussy Galore", getting hilarious reactions from users.
Bussy Galore is expected to continue serving the streets and the people of the country for many more years to come.
