Angelina Jolie Reveals She Ugly Cried Dropping Off Son Maddox At College In Korea

Angelina Jolie dropped off her oldest child, 18 year old son Maddox at college in South Korea and she is still pretty sad about it. After all, none of her children has ever lived away from her and she’d even take them along when she had to film projects in other countries!

That being said, the sendoff was undoubtedly emotional and the actress even revealed that she ‘ugly cried.’

Yesterday, Angie was in attendance at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California and while there, she chatted with ET.

The Hollywood star was there to promote not one, but two different projects – The Eternals but also the Maleficent sequel, Mistresses of Evil.

When asked about saying goodbye to Maddox, alongside the whole family, Jolie got a little teary eyed once again recalling it.

‘What was very beautiful is the way everyone said goodbye. When it was time to take Maddox to the airport – some jumped into the car to take him – and everyone was, it was very… When you know your kids love each other and they – without any kind of prompting or pushing – give each other notes, hug one another, take each other, support one another, you feel like they are going to be okay and they are always going to have each other.’

So has she stopped crying over this huge change in their lives?

Angelina laughed and responded ‘No.’

She then added that she had an ‘embarrass your children ugly cry’ as she was dropping Maddox off at Yonsei University.

‘I also, just at some point, had the big glasses and the amount of times that I turned and waved. I know it was the one moment in my life I turned around 6 times before the airport … and he sweetly stayed and kept waving, knowing I was going to keep turning around. You could feel that he knew he could not leave. It is nice to know how much he knows he is loved.’

The mother stressed that she already misses him a lot but said that she’s ready to visit him whenever she can’t take the distance anymore.
